2025/5/7

The Embassy of Japan participated in the 65th Zimbabwe International Trade Fair in Bulawayo from 21 to 26 April 2025. The Embassy’s booth was visited by around 4,000 visitors, including H.E. Dr. Emmerson Mnangagwa, President of Zimbabwe, H.E. Mr. Daniel Francisco Chapo, President of Mozambique, Hon. Dr. Constantino Chiwenga, Vice President of Zimbabwe, Hon. Prof. Amon Murwira, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Trade, Hon. Mangaliso Ndlovu, Minister of Industry and Commerce, Hon. Monica Mutsvangwa, Minister of Women Affairs, Community, Small and Medium Enterprises Development, Hon. Itayi Ndudzo, Minister of State for Provincial Affairs and Devolution for Mashonaland East Province.
Visitors were keen to learn about Japan’s cooperation with Zimbabwe and the scholarships offered by the Japanese government. There was also great enthusiasm for experiencing aspects of Japanese culture; visitors enjoyed playing traditional games such as kendama, wanage, and ladder daruma, making origami, wearing happi and yukata, and tasting green tea. Many were especially excited to have their names written in shodo, the Japanese art of calligraphy. Fujifilm also exhibited alongside the Embassy, delighting visitors with taking instant photos. We look forward to participating in the next Zimbabwe International Trade Fair.
