Meeting for Japanese Government Scholarship (MEXT) Students

On 19 March 2026, Ambassador Maekawa hosted a meeting for Japanese Government Scholarship (MEXT) Students. The meeting was attended by four prospective MEXT students who were due to travel to Japan, as well as members of the Zimbabwe-Japan Alumni Association. Ambassador Maekawa encouraged the prospective students, and expressed his hope that the alumni association members, who are active in various fields, would contribute to Zimbabwe’ s development by drawing on their experiences and expertise they gained in Japan. He also hoped that they would serve as a bridge between Japan and Zimbabwe, thereby helping to strengthen friendly relations between the two countries.
