On 2 April, Ambassador Maekawa paid a courtesy call on Hon. Sanyatwe, Minister for Sport, Recreation, Arts and Culture. Japan has dispatched a total of 177 JICA volunteers in the sports field to Zimbabwe, and is promoting sports exchange in Zimbabwe, including co-hosting the Japanese Ambassador's Judo and Karate Cup. In addition, a Japanese Film Festival was recently held in Harare, deepening cultural exchange between the two countries. Both agreed to further deepen cooperation in the sports, art, and cultural fields.
