On 10 April, Ambassador Maekawa hosted lunch with four students from the Harare Institute of Technology, and exchanged views on AI and startups in Zimbabwe.
These students are four of the 21 outstanding participants selected from among 7,724 students worldwide who took part in the Global Consumer Intelligence (GCI) AI Program offered by Prof. Matsuo’s Laboratory at the University of Tokyo, a leading AI research institute in Japan.
The four attended a study trip to Japan earlier this year in March, together with top performers from other countries, where they learned about solving social issues using AI and launching startups, and experienced Japanese culture in Asakusa and Akihabara. We look forward to their future success in the field of AI and DX.
