The Embassy participates in OTAKUKON 2026 (Sunday, August 23)

The Embassy of Japan in Zimbabwe will participate in "OTAKUKON 2026" on August 23, 2026. The OTAKUKON is an anime festival that has attracted many anime fans in Zimbabwe. We have participated in the festival three times before, showcasing Japanese projects and culture, including pop culture. This time, the Embassy will promote the charms of Japan to Zimbabweans with a keen interest in the country through a screening of the film “Magic Candies (Nominated for 97th Oscars in Best Animated Short category)” courtesy of Toei Animation;  "Onigiri (rice balls) Making " with Embassy chef Arakida; and manga workshops by the renowned Zimbabwean anime creator, Mr Bill Masuku.
